[Review] Nightwatch: And Zavulon Smiled

Watchout, fic spoilers!

Like the last supersad fanfic containing character death I reviewed in here, I didn't want to do this one either, but it is so beautiful and moving besides all the tragic sadness, I can't avoid it. Also great praise to the author Hecate for her writing skills!

The story takes place in the movieverse of Nochnoi Dozor, right after the first film, when due to the decision of Jegor the truce between Darkness and Light starts to tank.
Anton is left broken, empty and disillusioned (which is how I like'em).

Anton did his part, tired and weary, and he felt like he was aging and falling apart. Like he was on his way down. His body was colder now, yet stronger, but the heaviness that settled on him when Zevulon took Jegor away was still there. Still there, and it pulled him down into utter darkness.

Anton could feel himself grow brittle through his work now. He was uncomfortable among his once trusted colleagues. Their missions left a bitter after taste in his mouth and he couldn't go home fast enough to catch a few hours' sleep and drink more than a few glasses of vodka.

Theres just one ray of light ramaining for him...

The only good moment he had now was cramped into the short moments of dusk when he climbed up the stairs to his apartment after a long night and he could hear easy steps coming down the stairs.

...the young perky vampire next door - Kostya.

According to the definite subtext in the film, the two hook up - but with deeper feelings and all that.

Anton reached out for the vampire then, because he simply had to, and his hand touched the vampire's face. "How come you're so warm? You're dead and you're so warm. And I'm alive and cold. I don't want to be cold anymore, Kostya." Kostya looked at him then and Anton could see a glow of red behind the brown eyes. It should warn him off. It should remind him that he was touching a vampire. And it did. But Anton didn't mind.

Kostya leant in and his mouth was warm and hungry on Anton's. And then there were his arms, suddenly wrapped around Anton, and his body pressed against Anton's. Kostya was so very warm and it felt like his warmth was finding its way through skin, muscle and bone, through fabric, and then to sink into Anton. Anton could only hold on, hold on to Kostya as if the vampire was his lifeline.

Whoa. So hot and beautiful.
Sadly, the actual sex scene is just very few lines - but geeez, there is this one sentence, I consider as one of the goddammned sexiest, I've ever read oO :

No light or darkness, no side to chose and Anton screamed when he came and Kostya growled into his skin.

*gasp*
In. Credible. *shudder*
(As is right and proper Kostya let Anton top him, for the record.)

But then chef-vilain Zevulon comes into play and shows up post-sex in Antons room. His following dialogue (which is rather a monologue in fact) doesn't really convince me in its writing style, but then! It turns out, that Zevulon is into Anton, too!
And there go the second hottest lines of the story:

The dark mage reached out, his fingers travelling over Anton's face, and Anton was reminded of himself touching Kostya like that not too long ago. For a moment he wondered what Zavulon searched in him and what the Dark leader found in him, but he kept quiet and didn't move away.

*pant* Oh sheat! This picture! *-* This last sentence!!

One last hot action...

and Anton reached out for him and kissed him, softly, carefully. "I don't hate you." "That I know." There was a real smile on Kostya's face then and when Anton kissed him again he was neither soft nor careful.

...and the super-sad fate takes it course.
Anton andKostya both are called to take there stand in the following epic battle of Light vs. Darkness. In which Kostya is tragically killed before Anton's horrified eyes. Oh noes! *MEGA SOB*

Anton squatted down slowly beside Kostya's head, reached out slowly to trace the lines of Kostya's face like he had done some hours ago. Before Kostya had kissed him.

They killed Kostya.

Anton's legs gave in completely under him and he sprawled down beside Kostya's corpse and Anton pulled the body closer, pulled Kostya closer and wrapped Kostya in his arms.

They had killed Kostya.

And Anton draws the right conclusion from it. (Hot) Blessing in disguise...

Zavulon offered Anton his hand then and Anton looked at it, his mind slowing down to one thought only. They killed Kostya. They killed Kostya and now there was no light left in the Night Watch that he could ever see. No light to guide him. And Zavulon smiled when Anton finally reached out and took his hand.

This topic came up on 4chans /y/ (not the first time, I bet) and caused a two-front war of bitchery among Anon.

I really really don't get this hype about kissing in the last half century or since when it started.
I'm not a friend of kissing, apart from a few exceptions.

The main exception is slowly and fondly kissing boys or men in love. The in-love-part is essential in this case, because I don't see any sense in kissing at all, when no strong, warm feelings are involved. If that's the case, I'm also ok with kssing F/F oder M/F - if they don't(!) overdo it. But the two last images are kinda overused, therefor I prefer the first one.

A no-go for me is kissing in (fictional) non-con scenarios. Unfortunately it seems to be quite popular amongst fanficcers. But it's gross, though! I also don't like to see it in plain physical encounters. Be it Nip/Tuck, Queer as Folk, L-Word or any other series with notorious gent-/ladykillers in it - scarcely the prey has fallen into their clatches - PLOTCH smash faces. And they just won't stop any-more!! Not while hectically ripping their clothes off, not while talking gaspingly to each other and for sure not while the banging itself (as far as the chosen position allows it). My theoriy is, that this has been sat up, because they just don't know what else to do and would feel awkward to - e.g. - watch each other closely (which is far, far more sexy than this slobbering and slurping all over each others face - oh come on!).
There are two general types of on-screen kissing: The one is pressing the (mostly closed) lips together and rotating the heads in a strange way around, the other involves two widely open mouths sucked together while tilting the heads opposed from left to right for a really long time, combined with some weird eating-ish jaw-movement and tongue-darting.

A close relative of this is excessive neck-kissing. Don't get me wrong, neck-kessing is a good and sexy thing and contrary to tongue kissing also permissible in non-con scenarios. But it's plain stupid if the face (normally the male one, in het constellations) disappears instantly in the neck area beneath the ear, when it starts to going down. Watch out for that phenomenon in movies (that are not porn)! How silly!

[Review] Prison Break: Nothing Left

I got my heart broken. In the first place I didn't want to review this fic, but since it haunted me all day long I eventually have to.

Miss Mandy uses to write horrible Prison Break fanfic (not horrible written, but with horrible content), that always shocks, terrifies and devastates me. So did this one - I bluntly HATE fanfic containing character death anyway - but at the same time it heavily touched me on one strange level.
The plot is, that Michael requests T-Bag to kill him, since things went wrong and Lincoln is dead, so to him there is nothing left to live for (beautiful title) and he wants to reunite with his brother in death.
It's a bit unlikely IMHO, that T-Bag complies with breaking his favourite toy, but on the other hand it maybe is the ultimate get-off for him - he is messed up enough for that by all means.

Here are the most hurting/moving quotes (the agony of choice...):

“So how do you want this done anyway?”
He slinks over to Michael, the blade in his hand gleaming. “Fast?” he asks, miming a blow to the chest, “Or slow?”
He slides the blade gently across Michael’s neck, emphasizing his words and Michael shivers.

And Michael can feel the world slipping away as his vision starts to blur. It’s growing darker and all he can think of is how badly he wants to see Lincoln, hold him, touch him.

He doesn’t hear the sound of hurried footsteps either, running towards the room, scared that their friend may be making a horrible decision.
He doesn’t hear the sound of punches being thrown, of C.O.’s yelling, of batons hitting knees and backs and heads.
All he hears is Lincoln, calling his name. And he goes towards the sound.

God. This is so maximum sad. I'm really close to tears, every time I read the final lines.
I guess, it's the ...like gentle and professional way T-Bag approaches his mission. Yeah - I think that's the point (apart form all that despair and emptiness, that straightaway dock on my abysmally-synapses): You can rely on the fact, that T-Bag is a pro and exactly knows, what he does - be it in the rape/sex sphere or the killing scope.

Abysmally

So abysmallity is an important additional turn-on, but it's not imperative "the darker, the better"! Nun, blass war ich selbst. Das schockte mich also nicht mehr. Der deutsche Winter machte es möglich. Aber irgendwie kam mir das Gesicht bekannt vor. Vielleicht einer von einer befreundeten Band? Oder gar einer verfeindeten?
Ich dachte also so vor mich hin, als mir auffiel, dass der Typ mich bewundernd anstarrte, so ungefähr wie wenn man ein kleines kind seinen Bizeps fühlen lässt, oder backstage einen Spagat in nichts als hautengen Lederjeans und High Heels vorführt, während man mit goldener Farbe und Tigerstreifen bemalt ist.
Ja, das waren noch Zeiten.

"Starren 2 Euro", sagte ich schliesslich und aschte ab. "Wo drückt der Schuh?"

Ich trat von einem Fuss auf den anderen und dachte kurz nach, ob ich ihm sein schönes Gesicht zerdellen sollte. So wie in Fight Club. Aber dafür war ich zu sehr Ästhet. Vielleicht war er eher so ein sensibler Typ, der schon anfing zu stammeln, wenn sein Gegenüber keine 80 cm kleiner war.

"Bill?" fragte ich mit hochgezogener Augenbraue. Der hatte mir grad noch gefehlt.

Er lächelte, weil er wohl dachte ich wäre ein Fan. Weit gefehlt, aber egal.

"Äh... wa...was?" fragte er belämmert, als er sich an mir vorbeidrückte.

"Aber nich gucken, ich bin schüchtern." Ich grinste ihn an, aber er lachte nicht.
Naja, mein Humor ist auch nicht unbedingt mein bester Teil.
"Ich... telefonier dann mal..."
"Handy liegt auf'm Tisch."

Ich zog mich ins Bad zurück, dass jetzt natürlich bestenfalls lau war. Toll. Ein Punkt mehr, den ich an Tokio Hotel hassen konnte.
Also, abtrocknen, Jeans anziehen, die lag sowieso immer im Bad herum. Wenigstens war es eine, die mich schlank machte. So konnte ich sicher im bandinternen Wettstreit um den schönsten Drummer Punkten, auch wenn Gustav meines Erachtens nicht wirklich Konkurrenz darstellte.
Also noch triefend raus.

Bill sass auf dem Sofa und schaute sich in dem Loch um, dass ich Wohnung nannte.
"Ich weiss was du jetzt denkst", ich wuschelte meine feuchte Mähne etwas durch, "Das ist einfach nur ein Millionär, der so lebt, um Street Cred zu kriegen. Ich muss dich aber enttäuschen, ich bin arm."

"Hast du telefoniert?" seufzte ich.
"Ja, aber..."
Oh Gott, was kam denn nun?
"Die holen mich morgen früh ab."
Tolles Management. Zum Arschficken war er wohl gut genug, aber wenns darum ging, den eigenen Arsch hochzukriegen, waren die Plattenbosse wohl zu reich.
"Tja, Hotel würd ich sagen", zuckte ich mit den Schultern und holte mir einen Karton Milch aus dem Kühlschrank, roch daran, und nahm erleichtert einen Zug.
"Äh..."
Das klang nicht wirklich gut.
Natürlich! Das war Herne hier. Bill lag wahrscheinlich ausgeraubt in ner Ecke, bevor er "Schrei so laut du kannst!" denken konnte. Aber hierbleiben wollte er wohl nicht. Hoffte ich.
"Gibt es hier Hotels...?" fragte er kleinlaut.
"Seh ich so aus, als könnte ich mir sowas leisten? Keine Ahnung", gab ich sarkastisch zurück.
Er starrte mich immer noch an. Machte sein Bruder nicht Bodybuilding? Irgendwie sollte er doch an sichtbare Muskeln gewöhnt sein, aber möglicherweise hatte er ja nur Augen für sich. Wäre ja typisch für einen Sänger.
"Eher wie ein Ringer", lächelte er und wurde etwas rot, so dass er nach unten sah.
"Ich nehm das mal als Kompliment." Ich stellte die Milch zurück "Naja, schau halt online. Irgendwo wird sich schon was finden."
Er sagte nichts und setzte sich an meinen PC. Klickte ein bisschen rum.
"Was ist das denn...?" fragte er dann niemand bestimmtes.
Natürlich hatte er nicht auf den Browser geklickt, sondern sich erstmal durch meine Ordner geschaufelt. Wie ein Mädchen.
Das Problem war nur, dass ich über hundert selbstgemalte Pornobilder zweifelhaften Inhalts besaß. Und das hatte seinen Geist wohl etwas überfordert.
"Was ist was.... ohhhh mann...." ich stellte mich hinter ihn und schlug mir die Hand gegen die Stirn.

Und weg war ich. Erstmal Luft holen.

Ok, Bill war AG-Fan und saß bei mir am PC. So weit, so gut. War schon irgenwie irre, aber letzte Woche fragte mich ja auch ein Penner, ob ich ein Strassenkind war und Geld bräuchte.
Erstmal Schminke druff, da fühlte man sich gleich wie ein anderer Mensch. Und sah auch wie einer aus.
Als ich sieben Minuten später (neue Bestzeit) wieder ins Zimmer kam, hatte Bill eine Hand in der Skinny Hose. Beeindruckend. So eng wie die war, hätte ich ihm das nicht zugetraut.

"Stör ich....?" Meine Frage liess ihn zusammenzucken "Brauchst du fünf Minuten für dich?"

The plot didn't quite turn out the way I wanted it, but the way it did, I'm totally fine with.
The story is a case of "I came for the porn, but stayed for the plot". The built up atmosphere is so noir! Great! *gg* (Do you know the Calvin & Hobbes strips, where Calvin plays the private detective Tracer Bullet? Totally reminds me of him! *teehee*)
As far as I can judge, he described everything totally authentic (except for the absence of his sexy sinister twinbro roomie - but maybe he was just off going for a longer walk ^-^) - I got the feeling, being with him in the room!
Oooh and how the shy Bill gradually unbends and gets more and more confident and encouraged *SWOOON* So CUTE!!!! AAAAAWWW! *freaks out* Although I would have expected him way more uke and preyish - but YiShen did a good job to make it work this other way, too. ♥
It's a bit of a pity, that the final part, where it gets down to business, is comparatively quick rushed through. But - thoughts are free... (and one has to consider that it was 6 a.m. and YiShen had to keep an appointment shortly afterwards )

I hit on the idea, looking for Fight Club slash fic - without having a special pairing in mind, merely thought of the high potential of this testosterone drained flick - and I just hit it lucky with the first one I picked.
It's about a special entrance test, Taylor Durden has ready for the young and pretty aspirant Angel Face.

I'm just quoting some of my favourite parts (I try to limit myself):

Tyler licked his lips and ran his hand softly down the boy’s pale smooth cheek, “There’s nothing to be afraid of…it’s all part of the mayhem that is the Fight Club.”

I was totally flabbergasted, that the video exactly matched with my - to that time yet hazy - headflicks: school uniforms, one girl tomboyish with dark short hair, the other girly-girl with blonde hair (ok, in this case ginger - it's also accepted) - that was nearly creepy! [Review] Prison Break: The Ultimate Sacrifice

When I finally was through with it, I didn't know whether to feel relieved or to panic in deprivation.

Within the previous weeks several times I sat at work zonked, had slept only 3 hours, because I couldn't have stopped reading. At least I resisted the severe impulse to read on in the office, until the last two chapters which I devoured at a night watch. So addictive... so mean... ;_;

The story retells the plot of the first Prison Break season, with just the little modification that Michael gets bartered away by Bellick to T-Bag when moving into Fox River and so doesn't get Sucre as his cell mate.
Lotsa rape and non-con interaction is the consequence.
Heavily impressive is the great extent of canon! I initially didn't realize it at all, since I rewatched the first episode of PB - nearly every dialogue and situation is identical, just except for the tiny little deviations, resulting from the above mentioned variation. Amazing!

In fact I barely could watch the episodes after reading The Ultimate Sacrifice - I had to bury my head in shame in the sofa cushion, feeling like a rapist myself, when the mental images of the fic were overlaying the images on the screen. Oh Michael, forgive me!
One thing that really stands out for me are the multiple points of view. You switch between the perspectives of Bellick, Michael, T-Bag, Maytag and so on, which generally prevents the characters from being shallow (especially the bad ones).
Also a really good job was done on the dialogues (and/also/especially the dirty talking) - particularly T-Bag's. In combination with the mimic depictions I could bluntly see and hear (feel?) the characters in front of me. Great.

Something I didn't find too conlcusive was the defiant and mouthy attitude of Michael on superiors like Bellick, Ripper and T-Bag, which very obviously leads to much more problems and torture and rape again and again.
As well implausible, that mastermind Michael did schedule and investigate every least detail about that certain jail - but never had heard or thought something about prison rape...?! (Doesn't he have TV? )

Many of the scenes were to violent for me, since I don't like rape. Michael really has to suffer, and the very graphical writing style didn't make it any better. (All that tongue kissing and cum eating isn't my cup of tea either) I couldn't read any Michael-Slash for a long while, after finishing The Ultimate Sacrifice (expect some harmless Michael x Sucre fluff), I had to recover, for the time being.
I wish, darkestangel would have extended the approaches of Michael's guilty pleasure in T-Bag's sexual expert skills on the one hand and on the other T-Bag's soft spot for the Pretty. *sigh* Both aspects were already rudimentary narrated.

Alltogether it was a heeeavy trip, absorbing me all into its cold and grimy world. But it's so impressively written, that it gets the epic-crown despite all its sadistic contents.
I also find, that the point, where the story interrupts is ultimately a good one - since my hopes, that Michael and T-Bag get a happy ending with each other after a successful escape weren't that realistic anyway, I'm afraid.
Just hurry up and read!

I always have a tragical sympathy for Maytag. Even though I missed the episodes, he appeared in (I have to catch up on that), I - of course - read a lot about that boy and feel so sorry for him.

I'd like to find a T-Bag x Maytag fic with a happy ending - is there any out there?

[Protagonists] T-Bag (Prison Break)

For some strange reason, I can't remember, how my views regarding T-Bag were during the first season(s) - doesn't speak for intense feelings towards him, good or bad, which astonishes me.^^

In the later seasons, my antipathy tended to grow, I guess. Immediately post escape he got all hounded and harrassed, the bleached hair wasn't too flattering and a partly rotten away hand didn't make it any better as well. And even more awful were the fourth season - this hideous walrus moustache plus business suit - ew! I also couldn't forgive severeal of his heartless actions, like killing the vet, who had to sew his hand back on or choking Lechero to death in Sona - I really hated him for that T_T (yes, I'm a sensitive soul).
But almost immediately after delving into the worlds of fan fic, I somehow developed a downright obsession with Bagwell. Absolutely amazing, how all these great writers accomplish, to reproduce his so characteristical body language! Especially that tongue-thing and this head-tilting OMG *blush*
Whe I come to consider it, I barely read any Prison Break fanfic, that doesn't feature T-Bag, for now.^^
I simply handle it, like I so often do - ignore the facts, solely see, what you want to see and pick just aaall the cherries from the cake and frankly add, what's missing.
Therefore 'my' T-Bag's is 1st-season-oriented, but a bit taller and brawnier than the original (I can't manage a top/seme, that is smaller and scrawnier then the bottom/uke), mainly fixated on (straight) boys from let's say 16 - 30 years. I also tweaked me his appearence towards creepy stone-cold psycho and lesser weird cuckoo psycho. But of cooourse with his special style of charme and humor and above all - since I don't like rape - being a high-skilled seducing manipulator, when it comes to getting what he WANTS (and we all know, what that is). *sweat*

An appealing Prison Break het fanfic featuring Michael, Lincoln and Nika having a nice chat over a cup of tea. Nah, kidding.
Actually this oneshot very vividly describes a threesome between the abovementioned of course.
Like I said before, I hate almost every female character in the Prison Break world. But Nika Valek is okay (und looks pretty awesome, anyway).
I liked the story, because it's so consensual and respectful, gentle and sexy, but hardcore - a combination, that seems to be not very prevailing in straight mainstream porn.

This one was my first Kill Bill fanfic. And I almost guess, my first femslash?
It really starts promising.

It describes Gogo Yubari and her connection with her boss Oren Ishii.

"She hated being with men – they were revolting and all acted like pigs around her. They provided her with a source of entertainment at times but rarely a satisfying orgasm. And unfortunately that doesn't work out for me. The to and fro between batter the opponent and fingerbanging/sucking her off, in order to put her off her stride ...nah.

But all in all the story's well written, and like I said, the first part is very ...inspiring. Gonna have to track some other Oren x Gogo fics!

Suitable for: angst, mind/body/soul rape, unearthly experiences (prequel); het, slash, moresomes (homo/hetero likewise), sexual magical rituals of all shades (main story).

Jeremy, an adolescent boy with black blowsy hair and liability to snappishness (verbatim) has spent several years in psychiatric detention, padded rooms and medicinal muzziness - till Dr. Seth comes along. The handsome doctor takes a fancy to the devasted boy, which the confounded Jeremy soon gets to know. Dr. Seth manages it, to take his young patient home to his residence for rehabilitation and an individual, intensive treatment, which appareantly works out well. Later they get busted, but Dr. Seth is smart enough to change tack at court, so Jeremy is officially allowed to stay with him. <3
There are also scattered prequel-flashbacks about past jailbreaks and drug escapades of Jeremy. I also thought about some hooking episodes, but decided againt that in favor of the defloration through Dr. Seth.
Suitable for raging furor, drugs (plus cold turkey) and tender lovemaking.

This was the first PB OCxOC het fic I dared to read. Sadly, I have to dislike nearly every female character of Prison Break - most of them with passion. All that chasteness, goodliness and nobleness makes me gag (really).

Gretchen (and maybay Michales Mom) is the only one, I can accept, at least partly. So I sallied out to find some decent fic including her (but keep creepy GretchenxSara stuff off for Gods sake).
Yep, and this one was quite decent. And interesting. It was actually not a big turn-on for me, but the tension and the atmosphere were quite intense, so it was worthwhile reading, even though such 'emotional banging' is not necessarily my favourite taste. But showing a darksome, aggressive side of Michael worked out well, especially through that mood swing towards the end.
Though I'm not able to come to a conclusion, if I find the actual end too corny or not. But I tend to 'not', I guess.^^

Tonight I had a so fangirlish dream! *-* It was Prison Break related. Sadly it was also a very short one and a bit mazy, too.
It went like this:

I guess, it was sorta post-escape AU scenario. One of the protagonists was Cpt. Brad Bellick (seemed to be off duty). As fate would have it, he found and rescued protagonist No. 2 - a young (gay?) cowboy, blonde, tall and handsome. Someone shackled and wrapped him with plastic foil all over, leaving him in the trunk of his car on a parking lot to suffocate. He was nearly dead, when Bellick incidentally detected him, when he was searching for a gun or something, that was lying in that trunk, too.
Unfortunately the next part was all shady, but led to (like you already might have guessed) them getting together. <3
Cool feature: Even though it shifted at times, the cowboy seemed to be 'me' most of the time - i.e. I saw everything through his eyes, felt with his skin, thought his thoughts and all that then.
The best part of the dream followed, when 'we' were sitting in a cafe or a parlor or something next to each other on a sofa, the room crowded with a bunch of loopy spinsters - I guess, it were some Little Britain characters?! (yeah, I ain't a friend of crossover either... xD )
But then there was this amazing long, intimate, deep kiss. Holy sh...! That felt so realistic and so hot. Oh, Mr Bellick! *sweat*
After a exteeended moment we had to break off laughing, due to one of the women (I think, it was actually Bubbles DeVere xD ) commenting our activities in an awfull peeved way. *LOL*
Annoyingly this great dream ended shortly before Bradley's and mine planned 'first time'. (I got the background info, that Brad had sex with lotsa prostitutes in the past and also some rentboys - which is probably canon^^). Cowboy-I was lying just in my drawers on the bed in a hotel, waiting full of expectation and a bit nervousness for Mr Bellick, who was still on the road getting some job done, when I-I began to wake up... *sighhh*
I fed on that the whole following day and I surely will use that scenario (the kiss! the KISS!) henceforth.

It's important to me to mention my differentiation of the "rape" term in RL vs. fictional context.

My RL definition of "rape" contains sexual activities with another person, that doesn't want this activity either actively - be it she/he explicitly refuses the act or doesn't dare to say no for any reason or passed out, sleeps, is too drunk/high etc. pp. This is rape thus a totally fucked up crime by totally fucked up person.

In fanfic context I use "rape" in a narrower sense and in distinction from "non-con". "Rape" in this case means a person is coerced to sexual actions by brute force or sheer violence, while "non-con" rather describes reluctantly acquiesced sex (by extortion, pressurization, persuasion, payoff, manipulation, drugging or whatever).

I, for my part don't like 'real rape' in fanfic or fanart. But unfortunately I can't stop reading either if I stumble across such corresponding scenes.^^° I also seem to be more sensitive about female than male rape.
But when it has to happen, I prefer - according the circumstances - a strong victim, that keeps his/her composure through the torment. The worst thing that can happen is the appearance of "tears of shame" - oh noes!! :((
On the other hand non-con seemingly happens to be nearly a 'must-have' for headflicks or fanfic to me. Dunno, guess it relates to increased tension issues or somethin.

OK, srsly: This Archive is so great, because compared to other fanfic archives you don't have to dig through tons of nice and kind and happy stories to get WHAT YOU WANT. Everything is categorized in TV series, movies, anime/manga, bands, games and so on. And the best thing is: you don't have to deal with foreign rating systems you don't unterstand (since they do vary in the different countries) - in each and every's story summary it gets straight down to the nitty-gritty: "ANAL, ANGST, TOYS, YAOI..." - what you see is what you get! The index of story codes is pretty promising though. ;D (concededly the suspense may suffer a bit by that - but well.)

The only thing I don't like too much at AFF is the look and feel of the website and the forum. But sometimes it is just really the inner values, that do count, right? ;)
